When you take a bite out of that freshly made warm slice of homemade vegan banana bread, you’ll experience an intense banana flavor and the perfect amount of moist and sweetness.

* To make this delicious treat you need to start with Overripe bananas that are turning bad… or better yet, bananas that are turning GOOD! The ideal bananas for banana bread are more brown than yellow. Brown bananas are the key factors that make banana bread sweet and moist.

* What to do when you only have Fresh bananas and craving a warm slice of homemade banana bread. You can ripen the bananas by baking them in the oven. Place unpeeled bananas on a baking sheet and bake at 120°C until soft, about 15-20 minutes. Let the bananas cool. Peel, mash, and get baking!

* If our bananas turn brown and you don’t want to use them yet, even Frozen bananas are an option! Peel and put them in a freezer bag. To prevent them from sticking together, lay them in a single layer and press the air out of the bag. Your bananas can be frozen for up to 6 months. When ready to use, let the bananas defrost for about an hour. We want them soft but not runny. You can also mash the overripe bananas and then freeze them ready and mashed.

1 Banana bread

2 (very) ripe banana's

2 (large) cups oats

Almond milk*

optional: small spoon honey, chia seeds, blueberries, chocolate drops*


Small loaf tin


  1. Mash the bananas with a fork. Then, stir in your oats.

  2. *Add enough almond milk to nicely cover the mixture.

  3. Stir all ingredients together. Here you can add the honey, chia seeds, blueberries and or chocolate drops.*

  4. Place mixture in a small loaf tin lined with oiled baking parchment and bake in the oven 160°C (around 35 min) or until it looks nice and brown on top.

  5. Remove from oven. Can be enjoyed hot or cooled (if there is any left by that time)

*The blueberries burst and go delicious in the oven.
