Homemade popcorn is such a loved and actually nutritious, somewhat healthy, snack. That you can whip up in literally a few minutes. A must-have when you wanna get your Netflix on! We love to sprinkle a handful of garlic parmesan popcorn over main meal salads. They definitely add a little extra. Typically you just season it with some salt, but in honor of Popcorn Poppin’ Month, we’re sharing flavored popcorn recipes with you! And, today it’s Garlic Parmesan.
After some delicious experimenting, the best popcorn for popping in our opinion is the regular store brand Kroger white popcorn kernels. No expensive big names, this one stays a favorite. It pops up really well. You can expect big and full popcorn pops.
We’re a fan of popping popcorn on a stovetop. It is so much better than a chemical popped bag microwave popcorn. When you’re popping your popcorn with olive oil or nut oil they provide healthy fats which are a great source of energy. Don’t shy away from good fats, try to incorporate it into your everyday meals.
For example, avocado or nuts for a healthy snack. These power foods are packed with good fats, fiber, and protein. So you’ll be satiated without any cravings. You can easily throw avocado in a power smoothie or mash it up with a little salsa, lime and dip with crackers.

If you prefer a lighter option you can leave the parmesan off and just use garlic, you will still have a never disappointing popcorn mix snack.

POPCORN (4 servings)
1/4 cup JOLLY TIME Pop Corn - unpopped
1/2 tablespoon avocado oil (or any kind of oil)
8 cups (JOLLY TIME) Pop Corn - popped
2 cups mini pretzels rods
1 cup raw pepitas
1/4 cup olive oil
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/4 cup grated parmesan
1/8 teaspoon sea salt, or more to taste
Preheat oven to 300ºF / 150°C and spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
Pop the unpopped corn followed by instructions on the package.
Place popped popcorn, mini pretzel rods, and raw pepitas on baking sheet.
Then, drizzle on olive oil and toss so that everything is coated.
Season with garlic powder, grated parmesan, and salt.
Bake at 300ºF for around 8 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes. Enjoy!
